Origin story
Worldcoin, now called World, was co founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. It scans people's irises with a device called the Orb to issue a World ID that proves someone is a unique human.
The WLD token launched on July 24, 2023. Regulators in several countries have opened privacy investigations.
