Origin story
Axie Infinity is a play to earn game from Vietnamese studio Sky Mavis, founded by Trung Nguyen and Aleksander Larsen. Players battle and breed NFT creatures called Axies. In 2021 it drew millions of players, especially in the Philippines.
In March 2022 attackers linked by the FBI to North Korea's Lazarus Group stole about 620 million dollars from the Ronin bridge.
