Origin story
Sui was built by Mysten Labs, founded by former engineers on Meta's Diem blockchain project. It uses the Move programming language from Diem and treats assets as objects, which lets many transactions run in parallel.
The Sui mainnet and SUI token launched on May 3, 2023.
Founders: Evan Cheng, Adeniyi Abiodun, Sam Blackshear, George Danezis and Kostas Chalkias of Mysten Labs.
