Origin story
Pi Network was started by Stanford graduates Nicolas Kokkalis and Chengdiao Fan, who released a phone app on March 14, 2019 that let users mine Pi by tapping a button daily.
After years in a closed network, Pi's open mainnet launched on February 20, 2025, and PI began trading on some exchanges.
