Origin story
TRON was founded by Justin Sun, who raised about 70 million dollars in a 2017 token sale. TRX first ran as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum before moving to its own mainnet in June 2018.
Sun bought the file sharing company BitTorrent in 2018. TRON later became one of the busiest networks for moving USDT stablecoins, thanks to low fees.
