Origin story
THORChain is a chain that lets users swap native coins across blockchains, such as real BTC for real ETH, without wrapped tokens. It was built by a mostly pseudonymous team and uses RUNE as the asset paired in every pool.
Its multi chain mainnet launched in 2021, and it suffered several costly exploits that year.
Founders: A pseudonymous team; John-Paul Thorbjornsen is a known contributor.
